Our Purpose

Caplan Associates exists to provide clients with a straightforward, proactive and empathetic approach to all their accounting and financial requirements.

We aim for an approach which enables a client having gone through the accounting/tax cycle with us, to feel that they the service provided has been pro-active, timely and efficient. That they have received clear explanations as to the matters dealt with and the expected outcomes (to their satisfaction - that they don't feel that they can not ask questions however daft they may seem) and finally that they feel treated as an individual.

As important as it is that the client feels valued so must the accountant otherwise the relationship cannot develop. Therefore, we don't necessarily take on everyone who would like to become a client!

There are many small accountancy practices but we do believe that we are different from the vast majority, a few of the reasons are as follow:

 

• Fixed fees, for most assignments
   
• Free accounting software and training
   
• Fee insurance automatically included within the fees to protect you   against additional charges arising in the event of HMRC carrying out an enquiry or investigation. Subject to the normal conditions of these types of policy, with an excess of £100 you are covered up to £75,000.
   
• Strategic tax planning schemes, in partnership with a leading provider we are able in many cases to reduce the tax burden. For instance as a contractor caught by IR35 or incurring 4% stamp duty on property transactions or being hit by the new 50% higher rate tax charge, reductions can be achieved.
   
• If you wish, within the service package quarterly meetings can be undertaken with you to assist and review the progress made to date in future plans.
   

As well as being members of the ICAEW practice assurance scheme, the ICAEW tax faculty and IT faculty we are also members of 2020 International, a group of 3,000 accountants worldwide to which brought the latest management and strategic solutions to assist us and our clients.
